6. #BREXIT A new report has claimed that a hard Brexit would permanently damage the Irish economy by 4%, RTÉ has reported.

7. #RYANAIR The Irish company has seen its profits grow for the first half of the year to €1.17 billion.

8#SYRIA US-backed forces launched an offensive on the Islamic State group’s Syrian capital Raqqa yesterday, upping pressure on the jihadists who are already battling Iraqi troops in Mosul.

9.#THE OUTLOOK: Met Éireann said it will be largely dry with sunny spells, after a chilly start with highest temperatures of between 7 and 10 degrees.
